We are looking forward to welcoming all our students back to class on January 17, 2022, With new information related to the return to school continually emerging, we are committed to providing Madresatul Banaat families with the most up-to-date details so everyone is informed and prepared for back to school safely.

Madresatul Banaat Almuslimaat Health & Safety Practices:

As we continue to develop specific COVID-19 guidelines, the most up-to-date information will be posted to the parents as well as on our website. Below are the most recent decisions in a number of areas:

  • Daily Screening: We will require all students and staff to conduct a daily self-assessment and stay home if they have symptoms or other COVID-19 exposure risk factors. The daily screening practice will follow guidance from Toronto Public Health. See the link below:

  • The daily screening sheet will be available to staff , students and families prior to the first day of school. Staff, students and families are required to fill and sign our School Screening Sheet and submit it to our staff at front, before enter in the school. See the link below:

  • Nutrition Programs and Food Services:

    Approved nutrition programs services will be permitted and phased in to allow school routines to be established. Nutrition and cafeteria services will follow appropriate food handling procedures and public health guidance. Special event days (e.g., pizza days, bake sales) will be phased in later in the school year.

 The most up-to-date Online School/In person Learning information :

All students grade JK to grade 12 will have in person/online classes in full time schedule Monday to Friday as follow:
  • JK to Grade 5 from 8:45 am to 2:55 PM.
  • Grade 6 to Grade 12 from 8:15 am to 3:25 PM.
  • Teachers go to the assigned classes as usual.
  • All staff and students required to wear masks or Niqab and PPE, when coming into school for any reason.

Self-screening:

  • All staff and students must self-screen before entering the school.  School will provides parents with a checklist to perform daily screening of their children before arriving at school and self-assessment tools will be made available to staff to ensure awareness of possible symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Signs will be posted at entrances to the school to remind students, staff, parents/caregivers, and essential visitors of screening requirements.
  • If a student or staff member is experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, they must stay home from school and should seek testing and appropriate medical attention.
  • Staff and students feeling sick should remain at home while waiting for test results.
  • If a symptomatic individual tests positive for COVID-19, they should continue to remain in isolation at home and follow the directions of their local public health unit.

Adapted school environments:

  • All students, staff, parents and visitors should follow the signs related to COVID -19, Social distancing and one way use of the hall way should be followed.
  • Grades 6 to Grades 12 are NOT allowed to come to Junior place (The area from the Gym Inside door to The Office Area) If a student want to come to the office this should be by permission from a staff member.
  • Only the front entrance will be used to enter and Gym door to exit (at dismissal time).

Hand hygiene:

  • Appropriate hand hygiene is one of the most important protective strategies. So, hands wash and hand sanitization will be enforced.

Exceptions of Wearing Masks:

Staff or students with sensory or breathing difficulties may be exempted by the school principal, guided by school board policies this should be requested in writing. All Students must wear the mask all the time. Students are required to bring extra mask with them in case anything happens to their mask.

Teachers and staff:

All school-based staff is required to wear masks and PPE with reasonable exceptions for medical conditions when entering in the school premises.

Distancing:

  • There will be as much distancing as possible between students, between students and staff and between staff members.
  • Physical distancing measures are to be supplemented with other public health measures supported by health and safety strategies, such as screening, adapted school environment, hand hygiene, enhanced cleaning and masking.

Visitors:

  • Visitors including parents will be limited or prohibited.
  • must fill, sign and submit our school COVID 19 screening sheet, before enter in the school.
  • Any visitors to a school should be required to wear a medical mask while on school premises.

Academics:

  • Beginning in September, students should be supported in transitioning to their next grade or course, acknowledging the prolonged absence of students from the classroom. Part of this support should include assessments to identify students’ strengths and gaps in learning at key instructional times to ensure students have fundamental building blocks in advance of new content. The primary purpose of instruction and assessment is to raise the skill level of all learners in their achievement of overall curriculum expectations across all subjects, courses, and grades.
  • Extra support and review is recommended for Math, English and Science for all grades specially, junior level.

Health and Physical Education:

  • Board has referred to Physical & Health Education (PHE) Canada’s resource or the Ontario Physical and Health Education Association (Ophea) website for suggestions on teaching physical education on line with current public health recommendations.
  • The online health and physical education classes are on providing students with the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy choices today and lead healthy active lives in the future.
  • Through participation in a wide range of physical activities, they develop knowledge and skills related to movement competence and personal fitness that provide a foundation for active living. They also acquire an understanding of the factors and skills that contribute to healthy development and learn how their own choices and behaviors, as well as various factors in the world around them, affect their own and others’ health and well-being.
  • Through our online classes, students build a stronger sense of themselves, learn to interact positively with others in a digital environment and in their community, and develop their ability to think critically and creatively.

None (due to online classes)
